Hi chaps,

has anyone successfully got hotbird and 19.2 working on a sly zone 2 dish.

Ive been away from sats for a few years and am finally settled now only problem is landlord will only let me put up a zone2 dish max hidden behind some bushes.

Ive dug out some gear in the garage and found a astra/hotbird twin Lnb with in built diseq, now I konw that with an 80-90cm dish it wouldnt be a problem but cant have 1 of those.

If this isnt possible should I point at 19,2 or 13e

Also as stated its a long time since I lined dishes up, but ive still got a meter but it only picks up 28.2 and 19.2.

I cant remember what way to move the dish once aligned to Sly is it left or right and slightly down when looking at the dish.

Any help would be handy as I want to try to get the dish up this weekend if poss.

Thanks:cool::cool:

You can buy an adaptor for a standard LNB to fit a Zone 2 dish, although it may not perform as well as a custom LNB, the dish should be large enough for your monobloc LNB though.

From Sky, you need to move the dish to the left (looking at the dish from behind the LN:cool: and slightly upwards.

The pic shows four lnb`s on a zone 2 dish.

You will have to extend the lnb arm 2 inches. The bracket is for a Gibertini dish.

Thanks to Echelon for the pic.;)

turk sat 42e - astra 28e - astra 19e - hotbird 13e

Ok

Plan of action is Dig me dish out,

Extend the arm by 2", Ive found an adaptor in the garage:):)

When I put the monoblock on, what side do i Put in the lnb holder?

Is it the left or right hand neck if looking at the dish:-worship:-worship

Once ive got the dish up and LNb in what satellite am i looking at alignining first, I presume its hotbird as its the slightly weaker signal.

Oh and thanks for the help so far:-worship:-worship

Why do you want to extend the dish arm? Just use the adaptor as shown above with your monobloc LNB.

Err........ I was just going by what crossbones quoted:confused:confused

Oh yes I found by searching that hotbird should be in the holder and astra to the left up a bit, if looking at the dish is that correct

Yes, that is the recommended setup. Some monobloc LNBs have Hotbird as port A and some Astra, but it is easy to check.

Crossbones was talking about not using the monobloc, so the arm would need extending under those circumstances.

Yes sorry for confusing the issue!;)

You only extend the lnb arm if you go for the set up in the pic on a zone 2 mini dish:)

Ok,

Put everything together couldnt find my meter so decided to align manually.

Looking at the dish from the front the monoblock is fitted in the holder so astra is on left hand side and hotbird is on right hand in the lnb holder.

Anyway messed about with the dish and cant seem to find hotbird for love or money.

Originally found 28.2 now have got 19.2 and on the correct side as ive covered it over to make sure it was the correct side.

No matter what I do cant find hotbird tried all different disecq variations A-B, B-A but no hotbird.

I tried finding hotbird only but no luck whatsover.

Any pointers? Am i missing something or just stupid
