Hi,
I currently have my dish pointing to Nilesat. My objective is to add one more lnb to get hotbird 13E.
Here is what i plan to do...did it ...and failed.
1. The existing LNB I point to hotbird.
2. Fix second lnb for nilesat.
3. This two cables to DiseqC and run to 1 receiver.

Out of three, only the third was successful...that was the easiest.

I tried to find hotbird, but the best signal I got was 80% on my humax receiver, but 0 % quality.

Details:
Dish size: 98cm
Riyadh Lat: 24.65N Lon: 46.7E

I check on sat finder website,
Dish pointing to Nilesat is 251.5E of magnetic north with elev 24.7
Dish pointing to Hotbird is 236.5E of magnetic north with elev 42.78

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would suggest using a larger dish, I am using a 180 CM dish and it works fine. Using the same setup U mentioned i.e.

Main LNB pointing towards hotbird and the secondry LNB pointing to nilesat.

I've seen people using dish less than 180.
Maybe 120? Anyone?

You need to focus 1st to Hotbird 13 degree East, check if your lnb was skewed properly (45 degree to the right) when facing the lnb surface and dish was tilk 45 degree. Then when you got very good signal on Hotbird then work on your Nile.
Hope it helps...
Good luck!!!

Better spent 30 to 35 Riyals. Took some Bangali from Sulemania or from Sultana market and get you LNBs aligned. Of course you will get both.

My Satellite Setup
Octagon Quad Optima OQSLO @ Laminas OFC-1100 @ Powertech DG-380 @ Vu+ Solo²(OpenATV) / Technotrend S2-1600
Sony KDL32W656A / TBS 6220 (DVB-C)
Terratec T-Stick+ (DAB+)
My Location
Stuttgart (48.79N/9.19E)
Just for your information:
The most difficult satellite on 13E, the Hotbird 1 is supposed to be changed next year. Hotbird 7A shall replace it thus giving stronger signal to your area. So if 13E is the only satellite you want to receive i would not invest in a bigger dish. A 120cm would be better but with correct alignment and good weather your dish should get some signal.
