Hello everybody. I am trying to get AFN on Hotbird from Al Asad Airbase in Western Iraq. We have a Scientific Atlanta D9234 receiver and offset 110 cm dish. LNB is a 0.3 db universal Ku band. I don't seem to get any signal at all. Any ideas? Thanks.

You should be able to pick it up from there, you may be on the threshold with a 1.1m dish though. HERE'S the footprint. HERE'S a conversion table for radiated power to dish size.

You may find it easier aligning the dish with a standard digital receiver, or possibly an anlogue unit in the first instance.

Thanks for the help. We will hook up our Sky-XX and see if we can align it easier.
