Do they advertise their stuff on clear channels to tell you that you need cards to see their encoded channels? How will I ever find out if I want to become a subscriber to a coded channel?

I know, I'm so new arent I :D

Hi tonguedv

In fact that's exactly what they do. Advertise on clear channels or on an encrypted channel in a clear period designed for the purpose of advertising.

I was new once. :-csmile

You can also check the Lyngsat web site - they list all satellites/channels and providers - telling you what ones are encrypted and what encryption they use...
