Hi all,

I wonder how many of you in this forum are licensed radio
amateurs (HAMs)?

I find that the drive to set up satellite systems, explore the skies
in search of channels are similar to the traits shared by radio amateurs
and am sure many of you are.:)

When I was considering doing it (back in the seventies), the exams were far too electronics based, down to component level, not my interest so decided not to pursue it. My Dad was a radio ham, but then it was all easy to him, he was an electronics engineer. :)

First considered it in the late 60s early 70s and finally got around to it some 22 years ago. Buckled down to my Morse and grabbed a Class A licence 10 years later.

Not on much nowadays and what little I do is all VHF/UHF. My TS430 HF rig hasn't been out of its cardboard box for at least 10 years!
