Hello.

Got sky box in caravan in scotland. but its only freesat. we take our standard sky multiroom box when we go .. (no letters off them after a year of doing this).

Anyway. sometimes its rather awkward to take the box as there is someone at the house wanting to watch this box and theyre left watching late night telly on the sly + in the living room.

Now we have a box at the van but needs a card.. (fta card was terminated so cant apply on that card. but it still pics up 1-5 - skythree etc)

How much would it be.. without a phoneline or getting a box to get a card.

Just card nothing else? anyone recently been quoted?

As far as I know, you can still get a FTA viewing card direct from Sky for £20, just ask them.

Unless you've just had "subsidised" installation by a Sky installer, this should be ok, no phone line required.

I got a 2nd hand digibox, then a FTA card with no conditions attached, although 3 years ago now.

Ah!

Well - I may be wrong, and if so would need correcting (and telling off!) by others - so you should check this first, but as far as I know, the phone line is only required for a year after you've had "subsidised" installation, after which Sky don't require it.

So, Sky would probably charge the usual advertised price for your chosen package, using your self-supplied digibox, without the phone line requirement. But, please do confirm this, before handing over any money!

Otherwise, if not possible, there are companies that sell Sky package cards for use outside the UK, but they're more expensive than from Sky!

What you could do is set it up at home and connect to a phone line (perhaps put it in another room), get a mirror card for £10/month and do as you did before for your holidays.

Thanks, Rolf, I was badly off that time.

(Should stick to what I know, technology/science, NOT Sky subscriptions!).
