How to add active Multi-Stream TV to your Octagon SX-88

The Blind-Scan works fine for finding normal SD & HD transponders,
The SX-88 does not actually find Multi-Stream Transponders with the Blind Scan,
You can activate the current transponders for Multi-Stream that are in your database by making your 1st scan on a satellite with Multi-Stream selected,

How to do it:-
Go to instalations on the satellite that you want to scan then TP list & delete all dead transponders,
Now move to Antenna settings & press OK on the satellite you want to search,
Press the red search button,

Now select as follows in the sub-menu:-
Mode = Auto
Multi-Stream = On
FTA only = On
TV/Radio = TV
NIT Search = Off
Search = Press OK

After this just use the normal Blind Scan without activating the Multi-Stream in the scan to update your database,

If a new Multi Stream starts or a current one is missing from your database then add the data manually from here FlySat Sat List then follow the instructions in the sub-menu above.

If a new Multi Stream starts...
Just for clarification, there is no way SX88 or any other similar firmware receiver will find a new unknown multistream unless:
1. it happens to have the same parameters as the already stored ones in the firmware database (ie La7),
2. has no PLS scrambling (ie Hispasat test cards) or
3. a new firmware update is issued where they add the new PLS parameters someone else with a PC card already has and made public.
There's a reason why the normal blindscan does not find any multistream channels, there is no possible MIS parameters blindscan within a logical timeframe.

That's pretty cool, doesn't work well on weak signals and shows an incorrect level of signal quality.

The behaviour of the tuner is identical to STV090x ones for what I've seen so far. Once the PLS parameters are pre-set in the firmware all other will be found (MIS IDs etc). I would compare the "Multistream" function to the manual scan of EBS pro or the pre-values scan of SmartDVB where you can set a PLS value and the blindscanner performs a double scan - a regular first, and with the given PLS values next. That's why it takes a lot longer, now imagine that with a handful of PLS parameters instead of simply one.
Which brings us to the question: why don't they add the same manual scan functionality in their manual search menu as well, where the user can enter custom PLS and other values? Is it because they lead people to believe the tuner does magic tricks maybe?
