We have a property we rent out in Javea Spain. In the villa we have installed normal Spanish TV plus UK TV via Freesat using a 1.2m PF dish - all that works perfectly well.

Recently we have noticed that our clientele is coming more and more from Holland and Belgium and we have been asked on a few occasions is Dutch TV is available and so far we have had to say no.

I have no idea if there are any free to air services for countries other than the UK or which satellite would be needed and which size dish etc.

If feasible I am thinking of installing a second dish and receiver to try and accommodate our non UK guests but need some more advice on what sat and dish sizes would be needed and what services from which countries I might be able to receive with particular interested in Dutch, French and German services

Any thoughts or ideas most welcomed!

Most Dutch services are encrypted. One possibility is the new Joyne service on 9E which is designed to be for Dutch travellers.

Welkom bij JOYNE

In the meantime there is BVN fta on 13E, and some Dutch radio channels on 23.5E

BVN ("Best of Netherlands and Flandern") is also on 19E, FTA.

On 19E also a lot of free german channels, and a few french.
On 13E quite a bit italian, and some polish.
Some other french on 5W, and some swiss-french on 9E I believe.

Some of these satellites could probably be received with 'byrider' LNBs on your prime focus dish.
If you want to receive the extra satellites on both your receivers, you need TWIN LNBs. If you want to record as well, and watch simultanuously, you need QUAD LNBs.

Install a dish for Astra 19.2E and perhaps a unicable LNB (will need receivers that can support Unicable LNB ) so that you would run only one cable, or if you prefer, use a quad LNB
You will not have satisfactory channels for your guests using only FTA, but a little investment might be worth it.
For the French speakers - Order TNTSAT receiver (comes with 4 years subscription)
For the German speakers - Order HD+ receiver comes with one year subscription
For the Dutch speakers - Follow Analoguesat suggestion.

Many thanks for those suggestions - I may well put another dish at 19.2 - and maybe get another receiver. The cable would only be 3-4 metres long to the box so a very easy install - but what size dish would I need?

1.2M seems overkill, for spain, and most of the Canal Digitaal Dutch channels are now on 23.5E.

Forget about duch channels without suscription.

19,2 would do the job, plenty of german and some french ones. And 80cm is Big enough in spain, even 60cm.

Could you attach some pics about the 1,2 dish you are using?

Thanks
