Dear All

Apologies if this is the wrong place or I have missed an explanatory thread.
See My system specs.
I have RS 232 output on my digibox with usual L & R audio outputs.

My question is-if I get a RS232 to USB adapter will my PC be able to recognize the signal as video and therefore be able to record same?
Or indeed is there an easier way tp acco, plish the same goal?

I already have TV attached to PC via HDMI and can watch recorded stuff from PC HDD

Thanks in advance

Certainly not through the RS232 port. You could get a video capture card for your PC and view/record on it through the RCA video/audio out of the digibox.

Yes, I've just found out that RS232 port is for engineer/servicing.

I actually have TV PCI card from older PC,it doesn't fit onto my motherboard ,sadly.

Any other way for this cheapskate to use it,instead?

Thanks again,

There is not a lot you can do unless you install a video capture card in your PC.

If you want to record/view Sky on your PC, you'd be best off investing in a linux box like the Dreambox.

You can use a USB version. Easycap comes to mind - there's a cheapo one at about a tenner, or other more versatile ones. Just search online for USB video capture cards.
