For those users running Raydon's excellent modified Firmware package, the latest version 4.1.2 has just been released and can be found here

Once unzipped, the ReadMe file gives simple instructions for upgrading by USB.

Would that I could install it but I am stuck with loader version U7.52 on my HDR and no way to update it.

Why can't you install the correct Loader, Paul?

I'm sure you said, eons ago, but I can't remember!

I can't find an hdf file with just the U7.53 or U7.54 loader on, they all come with the latest operating software 1.00.21 introduced last year for the Olympics HD feeds. I've tried using the combined hdf but it's just ignored. My supposition is that because the 1.00.21 is already installed the HDR thinks it's up to date on everything.

I'll see if I can track it down: Might be Archived on one of our PCs.

Please.

I've just been to Humax's site and they only seem to offer support for the current model line-up. I can find no way to get them to recognise the "old" HDR.

Oh dear.

Not in my Archives and all online resources return "not found".

Why don't you just use the latest Humax firmware to get the latest loader, then once it's done, flash with Raydon's latest, job done.

Latest Update V4.1.3 available via this Link

No idea how long it's been there as I haven't been moved to check until now.

Edit: File is dated 17 June 2014

Just updated my own Bootloader from 7.53 to 7.54.

Having not done this for a good while, initially I forgot to rename the file simply to

FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf

That step is VITAL!

Sadly it didn't, so...

...this is of no use to me sadly.

Serendipity: I couldn't get it to work either - until I recalled the need to rename the file as per my preceding Post which by sheer coincidence I was typing at the same time as you were posting.

Do give it another go.

Loosing will to live! Have an old Foxsat HDR that has been turned off for ages. Tried to upload the latest software, but continually getting the E-HF error. On loader U7.52. Tried the above link to update it to 7.54, but received the same E-HF error. Any help before I throw it out the window?!?

I should be inclined to leave it powered up for several hours before making any further update attempts - most boxes taken out of use for months tend to be more prone to Power Supply Smoothing Capacitor degradation but sometimes they "recover" after a while.

When you do attempt the updates once more, try a variety of USB sticks: The Foxsat is very fickle about what it will talk to!

As I've not been able to get mine to update you may be in the same boat as me. What version is your firmware?
My supposition is that because the 1.00.21 is already installed the HDR thinks it's up to date on everything.

Also I have it in the back of mind that it might be necessary to have the Humax connected an LNB with a valid signal. That might be wrong - can anyone confirm?
