let me start by saying what a great forum this is

i have been and ordered a humax 5400 & a 1 meter dish,also a h-h mount... this is to be installed in 3 days time. the humax is already patched ,its cost me a little under £500... i spose i could of got it a little cheaper but the shop is local to me so if i have any probs i can go into the shop and sort things out.
from what ive read from the forum this should b ok for a first time system,am i correct or should i be looking at a different receiver.any coments that may help would be great.....

The patched receiver isnt going to do much more than a non patched unit, unless you also invest in a special card and programmer, if these are thrown in withthe cost then I cannot see any problem, if not then its another expense your local dealer should have warned you about
