Have to say I am amazed to see these problems.
I have original 1.08.2 beta as flash and on usb stick, Gemini, Hydra and DBF.
I have no problems with updates or keys .
The only issue i ever have is with it locking up but that happens with all
the images.
We need to share more info as to why this happens as its a user problem not
system issue!!
Come on guys lets sort this out!!

Sonic, like you, the only real problem I have is locking up; not d/loading etc.

For me it locks when I want to go the long way from e.g. K on Telenor to Front Row on Sly Ital by switching providers and then holding the button down while it scrolls to the channel I want. This causes a freeze 1 in 10.
I'd like to do this via favs, but then its the "removed service" probl.

I agree we need to sort things out, and that you can load any image with 108.2 beta in flash and the rest in usb/hdd, but I've been trying to find something that does not freeze up with Hydra, which is the image that I think has the best options, addons etc. Running it from the original 108 does seem to have helped. If
I run it with anything else on the flash it constantly freezes up which really bugs me.

Gemeni I think is second best and filled in during the time that Hydra server went down.

I just got frustrated with the poor build quality of Hydra and the CP which is what caused my problem. The uninstall process does not work properly, and leaves things in an untidy state. I got the Mary download to work in the end, but I knew it was no longer clean as the used /var percentage would not return to where it should have been.

As I like things to be just so, and I don't want to spend any more of my life bug-hunting in flakey code, I decided to install from scratch and have it as clean as poss. Not knocking the Hydra boys at all. If it was fully integration tested, it would cost £100.

That's the beauty of the USB stick. Quicker and easier than diagnosing the problem.

Who needs the hassle of fixing it the hard way, when it'll only go west again?

We live in a truly disposable world. :)

Been using Hydra Zeus since it came out and have had very few lock-ups.

Most are due to the CAM switching as you can still Telnet the box - so the image is still working.

If you set a lot of CAMs to individual channels your box will freeze more often - but that's not the Hydra teams fault.

I think their images are great and feature full - haven't found any that match or work better.

IMHO

Mary has now gone from Hydra - see latest Control Panel update.

On other site this has been posted as a problem with their server.

They may be under pressure from the same source that shut Hydra for a while.

I took the liberty of saving the Mary key url during the CP download and I just tried it. It still works so I wouldnt expect that the reason for pulling it is sinister. Maybe that server is just unreliable or slow.

To be perfectly honest, I think that particular download had problems. Too many people experienced trouble with it than can be attributed to coincidence. Maybe not the files themselves, but something.

Mmmmm, cryptic!

I think it was just plain f&"#%d.
