I have noticed that there seem to be quite a lot of non english posts on the forum of late.

While I think it is a good policy that Satellites.co.uk encourage contibutions from all nationalities, us mono-linguists are hardly benefiting from any these discussions.

We are too lazy to learn a second language, so what is the chance of us pasting every non-english post into a translator, on the off chance that it may be of interest.:-doh!

I realize that some english people (with superior genes) do speak several other languages and will wish (and rightly so) to exclude themselves from us degenerates.

Please take these comments in the vein in which they were intended.
(And everybody post everything in english):-rofl2O-Ha:D:p

Regards to all!

Yes, there is now a very active international section, particularly the Portuguese section and we are attracting some very knowledgable members because of that, several of whom are now mods.

All of the non-English language posts are specific to thoses sections, and all general forum posts still have to be in English, the forum is expanding, it has always had an international membership, just that it is now blossoming. :)

Yes Rolfw.

I take your point, and just hope that some of the knowledge from non-english discussions will still filter through to us lazy lot!

Regards,

Yorks:)

LOL, it may be good fun when in your teens Alex, particularly if living in the country whilst learning, but it's hard graft when thirty, forty, fifty or more. ;)

I'm afraid I have to agree Rolfw:-ohmy

I do make an effort to try and speak the lingo on holiday in Spain, but find that I don't get much passed 'dos cervezas, por favor', which is a phrase seldom used on this site.:-rofl2

(You can always try it but I don't think you'll get much joy!)

You think you have problems with the Portuguese posts? - Spare a thought for the English speaking admin team wrestling with crazy google translations trying to keep the section in some sort of order! :D

as a lot of other users will know, we sometimes have to go to other sites that are foreign to get files etc
me being a dreambox owner, tend to end up on alot of German sites, were this trend of foreigners is reversed... i then end up having to translate stuff before i post and then the reply lol

if you want to remove the international section, then just click the little arrow type thing top right of the section, this will fold it neatly :)

then you will have an English only forum again :)

from a personal point of view, i dont mind it... more the merrier. the portuguese section in particular is very impressive :)

I was going to muddy the water somewhat by posting in swahili.. but I realised that as I have gone through the process of learning English, both written and spoken, it is in my interest to continue in that vien. Otherwise I won't get the help I require as a struggling Triple Dragon owner who has just pulled out the few strands of hair I have left. What a box. Total lack of support from the vendors mean you have to rely on good friends here. Special thanks to Llew.

Yes, not too sure how fluent Llew is in swahili:p , but he's one of the many top guys on this site that help us all out from time to time. And in English too!:-rofl2

Yorks.
