does the cam unencrypt channels on it's own or do I have to put a card in it.

no, you don't need a card. you've purcahsed a cam with all the necesary decryption algorythms and keys built it.

i assume you have a receiver? you need a non-sky box with at least one-CI (common interface slot) and an 80cm dish (or 60cm south uk).

then point it at Hotbird 13 degrees east and tune your channels in:

Full X1 can be found on this transponder:

Hotbird 6 (13.0E) - 12577.00 H - DVB - 27500 3/4 - NID: 318 - TID: 9300 - Txp: 93 - Beam: Europe

for details of your other channels, consult this:

http://www.kingofsat.net/en/pos-13E.php

basically if you've got a receiver pointed at 13E with all transponders tuned in it will sort it self out and your eyes can pop out of their sockets until you're all porned out.

Apart from fullx 1 and 2 (and fullx 3 on 19e), you will be able to watch many other channels like multivision tps and absat channels on 13e if you connect the cam to a pc using a season interface card. Regards.

Not 'cas interface', it is the 'season interface card' you need. This card costs about £10 or so in the UK. To watch tv with it, you must have the pc on and connected through the serial port using a serial lead. If you get the season interface card and a serial lead, I will be pleased to explain the software method. Regards, pcd.

There are 2 methods :-

(1) Using the season interface card. For this you need to connect the card all the time with the pc with a 9 pin serial lead (not the null modem lead).

or

(2) You can program the cam with a Cas Interface.

Are you willing to use the first method ?

Regards, pcd.

The easiest way for him to watch Multivisoon etc is to patch the Technomate instead of having to buy new gear for the cam.
