Tightening the brackets of this mast mount indeed was strange, there was no feel of "enough", one can go on forever!
Nevertheless as you can see, the rib pattern that are supposed to align with the mast worked its way loose.
The thick mast of 60 mm doesn't help either!

The mount of this Jaeger seems inferior to the one on my previous "Palm" clone SG-2100A.
After just over a year, Jaeger's mount is already quite rusty, unlike the rest of the motor.

My stab motor bracket is far better than another cheaper motor I have, if you can get some steel tubing just bigger than the u bolts, you could cut four bits all the same size and fit them over the u bolt, this will help prevent this happening and you wont be able to over tighten,

Having looked back to the start of this thread (really? almost 5 years ago?) I'd just like all of you to know that (a) the Laminas is still up there and working fine and that (b) there's still a hole in the roof......

After all, the cause of the bent mount was the elevation bolt at the right side, that was not enough tightened.
The bolt had moved almost 10 degrees on the scale!
Forcefully jerked it back in line with the bolt at the opposite side.
In this case it's an advantage the mount is so floppy. :D
