On my Vantage I just started my favourites at 53ºE -> 0ºE -45ºW, then when I got to the end the dish did the long journey back to 53ºE. With my new receiver though I am in the process of putting a fixed LNB on every position that I use frequently, and motorised for the rest.

Hi Huevos, When I get my favourite listed, which will hopefully be this afternoon I will start with that.

How many LNBs will you be able to have?

Two things I forgot to ask, When you were here, you mentioned a film channel that you use a lot, would you be kind enough to let me know which one it is and where to find it please. Also, you have seen the layout of the rooms downstairs, the office at one end , my TV room in the middle and my bedroom, the other side of the TV room. I know it's a different thread but do you think you could tell me what would be required for linking that second to TV to my set up and guide me through it please?

When I'm finished "tuner A" will have 25 fixed LNBs and "tuner B" will have 7 fixed and 1 motorised.

Has the second TV got a VGA socket? Are you still going to buy a laptop?

There are more on 42ºE but they tend to be across various channels at random.

Also a few series on Vizion Plus on 16ºE but amazingly it now appears to be encrypted in Conax.
It must be another desperate attempt to get more people to buy into the Tring package. Last time they tried, encryption lasted a few months, so they may give up again. O-no
I can't imagine people flocking to pay for it...

I think he is going to strugle on 42ºE & 16ºE as the dish is only 70cm.

Thats unfortunate.

They are both easily caught here with a 70cm.

Thanks for that guys. I was hoping not to have to buy a laptop but if that is the only solution, I will have to have a look at what's available and at what price. Can it be achieved with my PC?

Most of the satellites that came up were on East. Here is a list.
Bardr 4/6 (26E) 274 services.
Hiposat 1C/1D (30 W) 511 services
Nilesat 101/102/Atlanticbird 4 (7.0w)439 services
Atlanticbird 3 (5.0W) 125 services
Thor 3/5 Intesatat10-02 (0.8W) 369 services
Thor 2/Sirius4 (4.8E) 358 services
Eutelsat W3A (7.0E) 132 services
Eurobird 9 (9.0E) 257 services
Hotbird 6/7A/8 (13.0E) 994 services
Eutelsat W2 (16.0E 136 services
Astra 1F/1G/1H/1K/1L (19.2E) 79 sevices
Astra 1E/3A (23.5E) 134 services
Eurobird 1 Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D (28.2E) 1053 services

That's what came up when I did the scan. I did scan Intelsat 12 (45.0E) no services came up. Is that Satellite defunct or is it that I just can't get it?

I would ask how you get all those LNBs to one tuner but it will probably go straight over my head. Anyway it seems pretty impressive to me. lol.

Just one thought, My son suggested that a, Devolo 200AV Wireless N adapter could work on connecting my TV to the DM. You plug it into the mains, connect one lead to the router. plug another adapter into the mains near the TV and connect another cable to the TV. I must stress, although he is quite good with technical problems, He is not trained in Satellite or connecting them to TVs. Do you think that would work.

Barry, the point of the laptop is to control the Dreambox. If you aren't bothered about that the easiest way would be a video sender. It's not HD of course though.

The Devolo adaptors aren't going to help. They just bring an ethernet connection near the TV. For that to be of any use you would need a TV with an ethernet socket that is capable of surfing the web. Otherwise you still would need a computer.

45ºE, 42ºE... I guess the dish is just too small. My 90cm is marginal on 42ºE.

OK, So when you say control the dreambox, what exactly do you mean? Would I not be able to change channels with the remote, or not be able to higher or lower the volume, or in fact do anything that you would normally be able to do with a television that is just connected to the Sky system?

Of course you could change channels with the remote but you need the remote in the same room as the Dreambox. So if you were in your bedroom everytime you want to zap to the next channel you would have to get out of bed, go downstairs, point the remote at the Dreambox and change channel.

Volume is not a problem because you can use the television remote for that.

Personally I haven't got television sets in bedrooms, but if the kids want to watch something different from me they take my laptop to their bedroom and watch it via the WiFi, i.e. no television set.

Hi Huevos, The TV has a USB and a PC input socket. Does that make any difference? If it does, which I'm not sure it does, what would I need to do?

You need to look at the manual. My guess is the USB is for viewing photos on a pendrive. The PC socket is so you can plug in the laptop and use the television as a computer screen.

I will need to go on line. Toshiba don't send a full manual any more. They are trying to go green and save trees. I will do that . Thanks.

Hi Huevos,
I've been busy this week, we are going to England for Christmas and New Year, so we have been busy shopping. I've not done my bouquets as yet but hopefully, I will get them done before I leave Spain.

I have decided to look for a laptop when we are in England. Hopefully, there will be some bargains in the January sales. What features will I need on the laptop to be qble to do what I need to do? I would welcome yours and other members advice. Thanks.

Barry, have a play with streaming to your PC first so you can see how it works. Download and install VLC, then open a web browser and enter your Dream IP in the address bar. From there you should be able to stream and control the Dreambox. On a laptop it would be exactly the same. You just need to make sure the laptop has a VGA socket to plug into the TV.

Thank's Huevos, I will try that later today. I hope I can get it to work. One other thought, my bedroom is next to my TV room downstairs.
