Stupid question I know, Dream site says:

IDE Interface:
Intern for connect 2,5" HDD

Which is not very helpful, can someone confirm if its IDE or SATA?

Thanks

Not sure which dreambox you are talking about, I can confirm that the DM-600 is IDE, I assume the others are IDE interface also.

Whoops! Yes DM600 :-$

Thought I put the post in the DM600 forum, my mistake!

Thanks for confirmation, that's what I thought. Bummer, as I have a 120GB SATA 2.5" spare, and I was thinking about replacing my technomate with a dreambox finally, got fed up having to delete channels to scan others!

There are SATA to IDE converters available, but you'd be getting into a whole world of headaches there with drivers and what not,

There are some where they claim no driver is required, I'd be staying away from these kind of solutions if possible.

I purchase A IDE to SATA adaptor from ebay for my PC awhile back have now sold it

The unit would work in both directions and now driver was actually required but you would only get the speed of the slowest point which in the case of a DM I think is UDMA66 so a sata would only work at 66Mbs / Sec

Search ebay they are only a few cents each shipping is around $8 no combined shipping when I looked
