My Satellite Setup
Newbie to this whole thing trying to setup a multi LNB dish pointing towards Astra 2 (Sky Digital) and Hotbird from 51.47699N -0.276E. Please help.

I am trying to setup up a Raven Gemini Dish 70cm to get SKY DIGITAL AND HOTBIRD 8. Is there a specific brand or kind of LNB I should get? I would like quad output for the Sky Digital LNB and a twin output for the Hotbird 8. Would much appreciate it if someone can provide me a recommendation from this website as I will be going there to my equipment.

And what do the noise figures mean? Is there a big difference between .2dB and say .6dB?

Thanks

my location is Southwest London (Richmond)

Well recommendations are presumably thin on the ground as there are far too many variables involved here and the setup you propose is ermm unusual.

The question about noise figures really cannot be answered easily. Different manufacturers use different methods of measuring noise therefore it is difficult to advise which is best lnb as they are tested using different standards.
Generally speaking the lower the figure the better but I have always had the understanding that 3db was the best theoretical value however some manufacturers claim 2db now.

To achieve what you seem to be trying to do will require a special bracket to mount the two lnb's on and setting up will not be easy with satellites so far apart if indeed it can be done on such a small dish, I personally have no experience but someone else may have.

There is also now 0.1db. _http://www.falconsat.co.uk/smart-01db-universal-lnb-p-203.html

According to customers reviews _http://www.falconsat.co.uk/smart-01db-universal-lnb-pri-203.html?reviews_id=48

it has improved their signal.
