I had a motorised dish up and running for the last few months, but due to house renovations I have had to resite the dish, motor and bracket.

It is still on the same wall and I have only moved about six/seven feet or so.

My co ordinates are as follows 52.3N Lat and 9.7W Long.

I have set my motor to 0 and have complied with all the angle setting on the dish and motor as per the instructions.

I am looking to find 8 degrees West and lock off the system on this but I cannot seem to find it or indeed any satellite signal. I have a needle sat finder nad this just keeps jumping in a pulse like manner, but giving me no reading for any satellite. I have removed the motor and tried to find a number of satellites, but this needle just keeps jumping.

Can any one please help.

None of the geometry of the installation should really need to be changed for this type of move, I don't think. I successfully moved my installation by setting the dish on a satellite with analogue transmissions (Hotbird in my case) and marked the dish position on the pole. When I moved the pole I set everything back as per the markings and used a cheapo analogue Maplin meter to fine tune the dish position before tightening up and reconnecting the motor. This worked a treat, I'm relieved to say.

Many, many many thanks for your help. I have set up everything as before but cannot find any satellites at all with the meter that i have. However when I put the meter on my digibox I can get a full reading on the meter. Do you think that my LNB could be damaged. I am getting no reading at all on the meter when I attach it to the motorised dish's LNB. Pleeeeeeeeeesae help.

I can send you an LNB to try if you want - PM me. If it works, you can make a donation to the site. I guess I could work out where you are from the co-ordinates you've given but life must be too short for that!

many thanks for your offer Norm....... I got a hold of a MTI Blue Line LNB .6db and it seems to be solving my problem.......... All I have to do now is to spend some time over the next day or so finding 8Deg West and once I faind that everything should fall into place............... I hear that these are a fantastic LNB.

Again many many thanks..... By the way I will arrange a contrib to the site.............
