Yep !! and quite happy with it too.Had to undergo some patching and reflashing but was all worth it. If bought in Europe, you'll have to reflash the network card 'cos there was a defective batch, nothing hard to do, just install some software. N*V*, MCT, S-x V--ew, R*d Li**t channels, you need to have a broadband connection that's needed to connect to ser-ers. Recommended +++

The new £150 satellite system is so much interesting and worthy of attention that on every sat-site people are writing their ideas in this case.
But, although thee are some advantages using these types of receivers, I’ve been told that there are some disadvantages for its maintenance. For instance, the way it is being upgraded. The hex codes and other codes used for watching the programs are being up-to-date via the satellites, but what about the receiver, it should be up-to-date too. You yourself must do it on your own by installing the upgrading program on your computer and with that program update your receiver every time. It’s just like the normal digital receivers we’re using now, the only difference is that:
1) There’s no need for seeking The Net for the new hex codes.
2) It supports not only hex codes but also beyond that, all level 2 coding. So you can see the French and BBC and so on channel forever.

At least that’s what I think. Now here in the Middle East you’ve to buy that sort of thing if you wanna watch all channels and have them 24h a day open.

Actually, still nobody knows how it works exactly. I’ve been told that the receiver itself must be upgraded like what we do now with yours. Its upgrading system is like that:

1) First you’ve to install a program on your computer (a software not a loader)
2) Then you need to download the required ROM file from the NET.
3) Then install the ROM file on your receiver.

Like the early Samsung receivers having the card slot I don’t know the exact modeling specifications.

It's somehow hard and risky. If your PC needs to hang or if you can't get over it, your receiver is bye-bye.

There is also the Innovative that is similar to a VisionNet, and a lot cheaper than a Dreambox. It does clear Showtime on 7W and Orbit on 8W, as well as the following:-

Astra 19E
C+NL (all except mature content)
Prem (EMU)
Arena 1 - 6
D+ (EMU)
ORF

Hotbird
Redlight
SexView
MCT
TP$ (AU)
ART (all - not just sports)
Nova
Zee / ARY / ETC / B4U
SRG

I’ve recently been told that there are some kinds of new generation of receivers in the market having 20 in. or 50 cm. of dishes like the one use the trucks can say for home use. Has anyone seen these kinds of receivers?

Here in ME, People are buying these things.
They've their pros and cons:

I think you’ll never have any problem with the channels hex codes or these things. They’ll always be open.
But the upgrading process should be so difficult and boring. Maybe the coast should be also too much. Still nobody knows anything. Dear Terry.

How do ya upgrade it? is it like:
1) installing a software on your PC
2) downloading your necessary programs from the net
3) Upgrading your receiver's ROM file.

i got mine as they were released ages ago.
For the money i think they are the best thing ever, i connected it to my PC once and have never done it since.
If you type in 9906 the receiver will look for any software updates via the net and go through the installation by itself.
I have had many things from the 1st hummy 5400 to dragon cams etc etc and by far this is the best value for money i have had.

just my 2p.
