Hi there,

I have a Fortec Star 5100 reciever, when I insert the xcam the satellite signals are being lost on abot 80% of the channels. Could it be compatibility issues...any ideas???

thanks

Hi Dear wingman182

Good Afternoon

As far as I can guess your STB is compatible for X-Cam.
I want to ask you one simple question, at the time of
dropping down the signal quality have you re-started
the Receiver? because its same like computer whenever
you will put anyother new H/W such as "Mouse" Keyboard
the system won't recognize it untill re-start of computer.
Its in some STBs cases because there is a small mother-
board inside the Receiver too. Secondly the STB has
initialize the Cam? if no try to initialize it in anyother STB.

Good luck mate!

thx Rivzi

Its strange, because I notice it happened when I watch freeview channel (game network) WITHOUT the cam inserted it fine, but WITH the cam inserted its has no signal. I have tried to reset the STB and its the same. I can see the signal bar at 80% full then it loses the channel "no signal". I have asked around a few specaillist and they say it could be a dish problem. Which I think could be true because I brought my STB to my work where we have a dish with LMB`s pointing at hotbird6 and astra. and i was shocked to see it working fine!!!! anyway I have contacted the installation company and requested to want exactly the same setup as my work place....

Its all weired to me but hey we have sourced the problem.....thanks anyway.

all the best
