Intelsat 702 32.9º E

Whilst looking for this with C-Band managed to lock only one:-

30.5ºE d.JPG

30.5ºE c.JPG

Others without lock were:-
3900 R 4.6db
3976 L 2.8db
3984 R 5.6db

¿Is it possible someone can do a scan and show their results also?

Thanks for that.

Even with 3m it's too small for this position, especially for APSK streams.
A 5M dish is better but not big enough to lock all frequencies

DATA only.

Wow, that satellite is still alive... it's 21 years old now!

Thank you for that.....interesting.

New satellite for me so well pleased with a lock on a 1.8m PF and especially after your dish size comments.

Best wishes. :)

Browsing through the Intelsat ephemeris, found that Intelsat 702 (incl. 4°) must have left 32.9°E on 14 September.
Will now be about 15°E, moving West 4° per day.

This is the end-of-life manoeuvre, announcement filed to FCC already in April:
"Intelsat License LLC requests special temporary authority for a period of 75 days to continue operations of the Intelsat 702 space station at the 32.9° E.L. orbital location past the end of its license term, July 18, 2016, in order to allow Intelsat to de-orbit the space station."

P.S.: TLE's are still old (12 Sep), so do not yet show this.
