Hi all,

New to all this with an Autosat2 on the top of my imported (but old) motorhome. Manual is in German! Get lots of pre-programmed European channels but want to set it up for usual UK plus others. Autosat are quoting me 65 euros to send it back to them in Germany to re-programme to UK. Is there another easy option? and then can I set my own channels in from the frequencies listed? There seems to be so many, its hard to know which to choose? Plus I don't know what satellites I should be looking for apart from Astra or how to set them up! I sure that this forum/site will be of help as I start the learning curve. Anyway, nice to find a site with lots of useful information!

Hi mate - only came here myself yesterday - cannot answer your Sat queries apart from basic things. Astra at 19E and Hotbird at 13E are the two main sats you should start with :)

Hope someone more knowledgable than myself will pick up on this post :D

Regards - Marts

Not familiar with the receiver used on this, but it is probably only a matter of entering the satellite information via the receiver menus.. It may however require uploading new software via the serial port, in which case you may not be able to get it outside the company.

According to the manual in the link provided by gameboy, the Astra2 satellite should already be preset on the digital side of receiver.

Thanks guys for all that - at least the English manual will show me which system I have - suspect that its only analog so may need to upgrade it?

If it is only analogue, then I'd be interested to find out what Autosat were planning to do to it for UK use. :)

I agree but maybe they think that I've got the Autosat 2s DVB which is digital. The new digital box is about £500-would I be better with a Dreambox or similar and would it still drive the dish? Is there any really good information I can access to make the choice?

These systems are a bit non-standard, may be that you need to drive the dish manually with your existing unit and use a second receiver to watch TV, £500 is a lot of money for what appears to be a free to air unit. :)
