Is someone tested LNB Inverto IDLP-SFLANGE 0.3 and Invacom SNF-031-0.3db on week transponders who work better?

DM800HD, DM7000 80GB HD with Asus WL330 wifi + 2GB usb drive, Skystar2.3, 2.2m Kinhuge Dish with Inverto LNB and Invacom ADF-120 feedhorn. Pace 1.3.25 and 80cm for Sky.

From what I can gather some Invertos are better than some Invacoms and vice versa. The best bet is to try to get an LNB made on a Tuesday or a Thursday!

I had better results with a C120 inverto over the C120 invacom, on my 1.2m Gregorian dish.

I bought a silver plated, specially selected, tells you the colour of your socks Inverto..............& both my LIDL cheapo LNBs outperform it on fringe Astra 2D reception. Never again will I fall for this trick.....I hope.

In my case the Invacom is better on Horizontal transponders and the Inverto is better on Verticals.

There seems to be one possible reason for this:

-The back probe in the Invacom is Horizontal
-The back probe in the Inverto is Vertical

Back probes have a 100% closed wall behind them whereas the front probes only have a piece of rod behind them in the same plane as the probe (to allow the opposite polarity to travel further down the waveguide). One could imagine this rod will not provide a 100% effect of a closed waveguide for that polarisation, thus giving a slightly lower pickup efficiency in that polarisation plane.

I don't know what is special with Inverto S-Flange LNBs but they are the reference in the market.

I found these LNBs 1.5 years ago when they weren't available on the market and was schocked how good they performed, i could not get the horizontal transponders on Nilesat either except a few hours late in the evening, Inverto changed it all and i have 24/7 reception of horizontal transponders on Nilesat now.

Also the vertical Astra 2D transponders are viewable almost 12hrs each day with the Inverto.....

Just to add something . I did not test the flange but the Single output Invacom LNBF 0.3 dB (fringe area). I found that the verticals which were weaker with cheap Eurostar lnb 0.5 dB is now stronger and the horizontals are weaker. I am in the upper band. The Invacom completely eats the 12722H.( The others 12577V, 12682H /PAS 10 are ok but not better) This was good with the cheap one. So all what was boasted about the invacom is not true in my case. May be with stronger signal it is better. Very disapointed

I now tested again this LNB on nilesat, sirius, astra and arabsat2B Invacom SNF-031 show 6% better in all vertikal transponders on high band from inverto IDLP-SFLANGE0.3 but all horizontal transponders poor maybe around 3%from inverto is better WHY?Maybe wavegiude of my feedhorn diameter 17.5mm but invacom flange diameter is 18.5mm and horizontal transpoder poor, only vertikal works much better, inverto flange waveguide is 17.5mm Is this 1mm change results?

Hi All,

Not sure if I have posted here before!!! This might of interest:

My assesment, best to worst, for Inverto and Invacom with various feedhorns..........

Best- All channels watchable 24/7. Some slight blocking ,2-3am, for ITV. LNB alignment and positioning easy.

CM feedhorn + Invacom Quad LNB

Gilbertini feed horn + Invacom Quad LNB

Invacom Quad 40mm universal mount

CM feedhorn + Inverto Quad LNB

Gilbertini feed horn + Inverto Quad LNB

Worst - ITV channels blocking badly during daytime. LNB alignment, positioning critical.

Notes:

Cable length is approx 10m to Foxsat Freesat HDR receiver and 20m to Pace 2600Ci. (Foxsat is best receiver)

Skew was best at about 0 for all combinations.

LNB position was best with max distance between dish and LNB

Dish is a roof mounted 1.5m Gilbertini offset dish.

CM feedhorn appears to be better made than Gilbertini

Photographs
Photos of all combinations can be seen here:
_http://public.fotki.com/m4rkym4rk/sat-dish/

Here' photos of the best setup:
_http://public.fotki.com/m4rkym4rk/sat-dish/dscf3181.html

Note the green earth wire attached to base of the LNB. This connects to a lightening conductor attached to the base of the satellite dish mounting post.

Here's the final setup now with DIY rainshade:
_http://public.fotki.com/m4rkym4rk/sat-dish/dscf3183.html

Final result with best combination
Reception with best setup( c120 flange CM feedhorn with Invacom Quad LNB QDF-031) has been 24/7 so far but I still need longer term testing to see if this is true for all conditions. In early hours of the morning, 2-3am, some channels, ITV3 etc, still have slight blocking but are still watchable. 113.5cm from centre of dish to feedhorn face.
