Hello to everyone

I have an Atom 9000 but I am thinking to buy a Dreambox.
I wanted to ask if there is a Dreambox without hard disk but to do exactly the same things like the 7000.I am talking about opening the same channells and generally have the same "support".
If yes can you tell which model is that and its price?

Thank you.

The 5620 does the same job but no hd/usb and different images. So only load 56XX images. Around €170.00 * Satboy

Why not just buy a standard 7000S without the hard disk? The HDD is an optional extra, and you could always add one later if you wanted to upgrade. The same can't be said of the 5620.

If you can afford it then go for the 7000-S without a hardisk as you can add one later. The dreambox 7000-s will function without the hard disk and will run off the flash.

If you can't afford it then go for the 56XX series. I can't comment on this as I don't have one.

Lets just say I am very happy with my Dreambox 7000-S.

Installed a 120GB harddisk which cost £40.

The tuner is not a good as others on the market - that said Dream - Multimedia have sold lots of 7000s receivers and only a few peoplw complain.

Most of the trouble is when you are on the outer limits of the footprint for a channel you particularly want.

Check the channels you want and their footprints and then decide.

As Gameboy says, if you want to go feed hunting on obscure sats, then the Dreambox is not the receiver for you, but as an everyday tool, it is one of, if not the best available. :)
