There are reports that the Humax dierct connection requires changing channels between PPV movies to restart the process of decryption

Since the Kiosk and Palco PPVs are all continuous replays of the same movie (with the exception of Kiosk 9, 10 , and 11 with revolving mature content), I assume the system falls over when watching more then 2 hours worth of the stuff, by which time failing eyesight might also be an issue

Been waiting for this for a long time. Compliments to the brains out there figuring it out :D :D

On another note, I never used a seasonal interface. Anyone know a link to a step-by-step instruction on how to use it and which software to load etc. etc.

Cheers

PLIGS heres a step by step instruction of useing you season for Conax, If its gets too techy mail me.
1. SHUV season into Conax cam/ patched reciever (pins up)
2. connect a 9 pin serial cable from pc to season interface
3. make a bootable floppy disk with program at link above
4 reboot pc (if done 3 correctly) floppy will boot in Linux
5. swing sat too Thor
6. ( and watch) , if any real probs
(like baud rate speed) it wont start but other than that its that simple.

Just to let you know, CH, I got my season interface back from a friend of mine - something that I bought about 8 years ago that came with some Voyager software that I never managed to get working, made myself a linux boot disk as described earlier, plugged the season into my patched Humax 5400, no Co*ax cam, and bingo, worked first time.
I have watched 2 films on kio*k and 2 footy matches and it is very, very stable.
Well done to all involved - what an achievement.

After 2 late nights in a row without any result, I need some advise / ideas.

Got my Season 2b, booted in Linux (tried both lce.img (dated 28.sep01) and the lce22.img (dated 06.jan.03).

Try to connect through both embedded C'nax CAM (Force) and CI (version 3.03)

Have played around with the baud rates(8861, 9000, 9600 etc) and even parity.

I know the COM port (com1) and cable is correct but how can I check whether it is really connecting? Message on the TV is first "card ok" then shortly after "unable to decode signal".

Who got it working on above equipment and what settings have you used?

Thanks Psats,

Finally got it working with 9600 bps but only on a Conax CI (version 3.03).

Couldn't get it working with the embedded Conax CAM on my Force 1030. Have lowered the speed down to 8861 bps, still without result. Anybody got that working and at what setting??

Got the Season on order. Got the pc alongside the tv and stb. Got the serial cable. Got the software. Got the floppy. Got my wife's permission to clutter the living room with hardware. What I need to know is: what bios/operating system modifications do I need to make if I'm to run the pc just as a black box, without monitor, keyboard and mouse?

:confused :confused :confused

Youve not got a conax cam then, The emulator program has Linux
built into it, So if you copy the "lce" to a floppy disk with Diskwrite it will make the disk a linux bootable disk, with the emu program running as well, In theory you dont need a Pc juat a powered floppy Disc drive, as all the works done on the disc, Theres also a program
(on the dudez) which creates a Virtual H drive on your HD, Whatever OP sys you use, I use this so i can go on the net and still have conax (crunchin away) DAVE
