Hey all,

I’m having a motorised dish installed this week but I’ll be providing the LNB and receiver as the installer doesn’t use Inverto Black Ultra. I’m only having a single feed installed, as the dish will only serve one room in the house (I plan to use OpenWebIf to stream around the house if needs be). So I went ahead and purchased this, is this correct or did I need one with two inputs?

Just asking to make sure I know for sure before the installer arrives.

Thank you!

What receiver have you bought and are you motorising the dish ?

The Invertos have a reliability record, according to some they don't last long, I've had a couple of failures inside two years.

Should do what you require.

Agree about longevity, though.

I have had 2 failures in last 5 years one was within 12 months so the supplier replaced it free of charge :)
I currently have 2 in use & 3 used as spares.

Think I've had about three failures over the past few years. I've always linked it to warmer summer weather and thought of applying a coat of white paint to the LNB body..

Thanks all

Oh goodness me, I'm now worried whether I've done the right thing. The motorised dish in my previous property also had an Inverto Black Ultra (installed in 2015) and stopped moving a mere week before I moved this year. Now wondering whether that was caused by the LNB.

No. LNB failure shouldn't impact upon Motor function.

Just stick with your plan.

The failure I've encountered is just one of the polarities (can't recall which) out of the four, but it is always the most annoying one for the customer.

I would not worry you have made an excellent choice the Inverto Black Ultra is in a class of it's own no other Lnb that I have or tested comes near to the performance level of the IBU :)

What receiver have you bought and are you motorising the dish ?

I have bought an OCTAGON SF8008 as my reciever. I will be motorising yes - a Triax 88cm and TM-2600. I know the 88cm probably won't pick up as much but I was pretty surprised at what I could pick up with a much smaller 78cm, which included most of the EBU feeds at 7E.

Just to echo what William1 said in post 9 .... My findings have been much the same - and not expensive to replace if you do get a failure ... good luck.
