A super-intelligent robotic "brain" that can learn new skills by browsing millions of web pages has been developed by US researchers.

Robo Brain is designed to acquire a vast range of skills and knowledge from publicly available information sources such as YouTube.

The information it learns can then be accessed by robots around the world, helping them to perform everyday tasks.

A similar project is already being developed in Europe.

Funded by Google, Qualcomm, and Microsoft (as well as the National Science Foundation and others), Robo Brain will allow robots to interact more freely with the world, communicate with us more efficiently, and identify us when it’s time for their uprising.

Strange that ....and it makes me sooo angry..

I'll go chill out listening to the company song..

Hmmm

Meka Robotics - A spin-off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that built robot parts that appeared friendly and safe to humans.

Schaft - a spin-off from the University of Tokyo that focused on the creation and operation of humanoid robots.

Researchers have used GPS data to reveal the mathematical secrets of how sheepdogs do their job.

The new model helps to explain why one shepherd and a single dog can herd an unruly flock of more than 100 sheep.

It could be used to help develop "shepherd robots", for controlling crowds or cleaning up an oil spill.

Clever, so they're designing robots to herd people up like sheep, absolutely nothing wrong with that then, not at all, it could never be misused to say, oh I don't know, take over the world... :-rofl2
