High winds here today

The dish was shaking like mad

I had to take it down before it went through my next door neighbours window

I had custom made brackets, they shook quite alot in high winds

Im going to have to buy the stand off brackets, hopefully there stronger

Need to go through all the effort of setting it back up again now

Its a sad day :(

You recovered the equipment and no one got lost or killed.

Found a place for it in my garden

Its easier to access and i get 30w now

Im either gonna leave it there or make a frame/stand that i can roll out of the garage into a set place in the floor

Its right by my fence to, so theres hardly any wind at all

Getting 97% quality on 30w :)

Well done m8, a result at last:-clap You will find it much easier to "play about with your gear" down at ground level. I know that it has been a long drawn out saga but I expect that you are now pleased with your efforts. Percy Verance pays off in the end.

You are better with the K at the bottom, or better still, two K pieces. The T is designed to be at the top, as it acts as a fulcrum for stress on the K part.

That would mean buying 2 sets of brackets??

I read on a tutorial that the k is better at the top?? but ithink that its just a personal prefrence of that person..

So the t at the top and the k at the bottom.. would you think the same for motorised>???

It's the same for whatever you put on it, the bottom bracket carries the weight and is braced both vertically and horizontally, the top bracket only needs strength in the horizontal plane. Yes, if you use two K pieces, then you need to buy two pairs. :)

PS. Good sleeve anchors can make a big difference to the strength of the installation, plus a large diameter mast.
