The changes to ITV HD today removed ITV-1 Meridian HD from Sandy Heath transmitter well we never watched it for the local news as this was for Southampton, Kent & Sussex

So when I re-scanned the UHF tuner expecting to find ITV-1 HD Anglia all I got a weak signal for ITV-1 London HD as the powers to be had not got around to the recent changes,
We have a communal UHF aerial aimed at Sandy Heath that most of the residents in my location rely on for their TV,

We live in hope that they will soon catch up as not everybody has satellite or cable to watch the correct ITV-1HD for their region & rely on DTT,
ITV-1 Anglia SD still broadcasts via Sandy Heath so the HD version must appear soon as the SD versions of ITV-1 are due to close down.

Unbelievable we still have ITV -1 HD for Meridian with studios in Southampton  broadcasting to Essex

Oh well maybe it is time to dump DTT in favour of FreeSat & Cable at least they show ITV-1 Anglia West HD :)

The launch of the new HD regional variations was only for satellite/cable as far as I know.

For extra regionalisation on DTT, ITV would have to stump up all the costs if they did it without the BBC also wanting to start making BBC One HD regional on the same multiplex. So there’s a stand-off with ITV not wanting to put all the investment in for each new version of the multiplex required, and we’re stuck with the original amount that they paid for when they first enabled a few regions.

We get Central West HD (which is ‘technically’ correct as our aerial points at Ridge Hill, although there’s a second ITV SD carried to give us West regional programmes here in North Gloucestershire where you get Ridge Hill rather than Mendip), Central West HD is also carried in the West, South West and East Midlands anyway.
