Complete rubbish - why would they dual transmit when the transmissions are ALREADY fta for Freesat?? Its an engineering test nothing more, and nothing to get excited about..

Now,let's judge the facts without prejudices:there are 3 ITV feeds on the same tp,some are encrypted but can be watched with a FTV card,and one is FTA.
Clearly they are working on something,it can't just be an interactive stream.

There are now 7! - 3 more ftv ones have appeared. I'll be interested to see which regions they are

Theres summat odd going on with these new channels I suspect they are the missing regions from ITV for Freesat but I'll have a look when the local news comes on.

The fta one (12199) has ceased its video feed

Yes as far as a dodgybox is concerned, I have 12100 & 12101 working with a subscription card or a ftv card would work

I think it is a bit unfair branding AnalogueSat as a prophet of doom in this discussion as at the end of the day, he is right - this is more likely to go than stay. Until the day comes when I see "ITV {whatever}" in my Other Channels in the dodgybox I am not holding out much hope.

I think most of us have no idea what is really going with the on/off at ITV at the moment, but here are some more suggestions:

1) ITV are working on some newer more/improved interactive stream?

2) A FTV version of ITV1 ? Can't see that happening!

3) BBC News is on wide beam, so ITV want to resurrect ITV News to depress even more?

4) ITV are desperate for more viewers, so they have held out the hand of love to expats in a last ditch attempt to get someone to watch them and phone in from overseas?

Actually I know a few rich expats in Mallorca who regularly called into "The X Factor" when I lived there - incredible.

Actually, I have no idea - more like (4) than (1), haha!

It's nice to have ITV1, but not having had it for so long I have to say the quality of programming on there is so poor at the moment, even though I have it temporarily I don't watch it anyway...so ITV, I couldn't really care if it stayed in 2D or not...

Yep, a FreesatfromSky, ex subs card or subs card is needed.

Funny you should say that. First program I saw was the ITV Sport review of how badly Greece played against Russia! and don't laugh but I've added Coronation Street at 7:00pm to come up as a reminder. U-zzz. Just to see who is who and where is what after quite a few years. Never been a fan, but it has been on the telly since I can remember no more. About as english as the smell of a fresh mowed lawn or bangers and mash. :-worship

The launch of Freesat has coincided with a contractual change in our transponder line up from SES Astra, this has resulted in one less 2D transponder being available for ITV services. In order to manage overspill of ITV services into Europe as a result of this change a low level of Conditional Access encryption known as Automatic Entitlement will be applied to some ITV1 services.
