A sad day for us jazz fans. Pianist and composer Dave Brubeck has died aged 91.

'Take Five' became a big hit in the late 50's, and is still probably one the best known tunes to come out of jazz.

Thought you might be the one to post this.<br /><br />Yes, a jazz piece that was liked and admired by those who normally don't like Jazz. With its 4/5 time beat (he later did a piece in 8/9 time I believe), the syncopation made it a fascinating listen.<br /><br />RIP Dave.

Yes, drummer Joe Morello was an absolute master at holding the time signatures. 'Blue Rondo A La Turk' was another classic - Jazz FM even managed to include it in their morning show today, amongst the rubbish they usually have during that programme.

RIP Dave. He had some tunes that are still going to be played in 200 years.
