Hmm,
"The password is incorrect"???

What did I do wrong? :-)
Oh now I see. One needs the Group ID#!! Not the group name.

Thank you for spotting that, I didnt see that myself, and I'm meant to be organising it. Does something tell me that this isnt meant to go right or something?! Anyway, is you can see, I've fixed that (had to email myself an invite to find out the number as it didnt say on my account on the game ANYWHERE, vvv helpful and why I thought it wanted the name in the first place.

Stankovic and Craig Moore, interesting. I was a bit scared to pick Aussies, they could hit or flop, but Stankovic is a top choice.

Team Scottish Borders. Jeez this is complicated compared to the F1. Should have had a pint before I started :D

It is, but its not half detailed! My tactic will be to change about my starting lineup after every group as played a round of games. Remember that the 23 players you just picked are your entire squad, and that you have to pick XI players to start and actually get points off. Best I think to get clued up on the rules - http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/fwc06/fg/index.html

WOW, you've gone for a very different 23 to what I reckon most people will go for... especially not having Ronaldinho.

The stats show something like 70% of folks have Ronaldinho - so I wanted do do a different approach! Not difficult as I have no idea at all about the form of almost all the players, so I used the shotgun approach

:-lmao

3 people so far including me! Come on people, esp the F1 Fantasy League members, lets get it together (no, not like that, but you get what I mean!).

To add some flavour to this thread in the run up to the World Cup, I would invite people to post any funny bit n bobs about the Cup that they find.

I'll start.

I've found this wonderful blog written by the BBC sports journalists going to Germany, provides a good read - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/worldcup/

World Cup team bus slogan - A little know fact is that all the teams are given a team bus to travel across Germany in, and they will all have slogans on them, specially selected from entries, and here they all are - http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/hfc/bt_ws.html

Another newbie as entered, Tugas4Ever please indentify yourself :) Great team by the way, although making Calvalho the captain is a bit of a risk for me.

Jus taken another look at your team Tom, why Nilsson? I'll hold my hands up and admit that I cant remember who he is, please remind me! Whats he like playing for Panathinaikos?

I have more in the way of wallcharts (by the way I updated my edited BBC wallchart as I got some game broadcasters wrong, but I'm pretty sure it correct now!) -

Mirror Newspaper - http://www.mirror.co.uk/worldcup/downloads/tm_objectid=17085568&method=full&siteid=94762&headline=world-cup-wallchart-name_page.html

ITV Sport - http://worldcup.itv.com/Interactive/Downloads/0,16462,7727,00.html

Sky Sports - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2006/bbc_coverage/default.stm

And the BBC have now put up a full info on their coverage, of which I must say the most interesting feature is the ability to listen to foreign commentary - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2006/bbc_coverage/default.stm

So expect to hear something like this if you watch the Brazil-Croatia game with Brazillian commentary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY4uQxHiR3A&search=Ronaldinho%20Brasil (and people say Johnathon Pearce is loud!)

Why Nilsson?
I don't know, probably cause the name rang a bell.... Pippi Langstrumpf's monkey is called "Herr Nilson", I guess that's the reason :-)

Like the team John, I guess we will be able to see just how much value for money Chelsea's players are.

There you go 2 goals last night. Put 20 euro on Crespo for top goalscorer yesterday * 20/1.

By the way do you get points for players on the bench. Noticed my points are fairly high for the players that were on the bench.
