okay,no problem,my version is with 5+ volt modification,
for optical motor sensors!
this the reason why the price is a little bit higher, then the normal vbox, with out modify!

yes, the one i got was the Techomate Vbox2 which also has the +5V :)

well, ive just ordered a Invacom QDF-031 quad lnb, ive read on various forums that its very good so thought id go for it to save hassle in the long run. I want to get it done first time :)

Robbo, sorry to ask this question again, but will the QDF-031 quad lnb be a straight swap on my dish?

right, so next is vbox2 and some cabling/bolts

I think so, post a close up photo of the back of the feedhorn without the lnb on, and we can say for definite.

hi guys

i have just noticed the feedhorn on the dish doesn't have the cover/cap on it.

is this needed? i have ordered a Invacom QDF-031 quad lnb, so would i need to use a cap/cover?

Hello!
i dont know is this cap avalible here in europe, call invacom on the hotline,to ask them, normaly the lnb is protectet enough against rain, and waterproof, when the protection ring is installed right!

the technomade vbox i dont know, this the first modell that have the +5 modfy on board, the older ones,in the past never have this, and you have this install separatly, good that is now included, but maybe sillt not on all modells!

search the circular incacom lnb on google, then you see the weather cap what i mean!
what polarizer you want to use?
with this, you can get espasaly on nilesat more signal!

The LNB itself does not need waterproofing as it has a transparent membrane at the mouth.

However, at some dish elevations it may be possible to get rain in the feedhorn, and if it was able to collect at the lnb, you would get no or little signal.

I cannot see unfortunately the feedhorn rain cover listed in satmueller catalogue, just the feedhorn that comes with it.

I think you will have to improvise for a little while, pet food can cover maybe?:-rofl2

ive found 2 baby food tin covers, but they are slightly too big, am i ok to say "no nail" glue around the feedhorn to i can press one of these covers onto it to make it stick?

or what do you think would be the best way of doing it?

That certainly looks like a standard C120 mounting.

OOPs I thought I had replied, but didn't.

Yep, looks OK. Hopefully the screw holes will line up OK too, but the flange and the waveguide diameter look to be correct.

As for the rain cover, you're going to have to play with that, and see what works, but doesn't affect signal. I'd be tempted to bung some tape round it initially.

I use the 0.75mm 6amp cable on a run of about 20m with no problems (the Vbox max currant 3amps).
