As the above - it used to appear below the Messages counter in a Members info on the LHS of the screen tab, but now it doesn't.

Another "improvement" from the recent site software "upgrade"???

I think it is more a case of moving stuff around or removing them from existing homes although there are instances of stuff that does not work correctly, most points being one of the ones that springs to mind, it has never moved past 113. Likes is now called reaction points as there are different options available now now just likes. I suggest you take a look at the members pages to see details of what you want Notable members

@Topper
Interesting - sure that someone has reasons for the changes (although I agree with deleting the Trophy points for the reason you mentioned!), so any other observations?

As far as I am aware the changes are not at our request they were made by the software manufacturers, Xenforo at the end of the day, they know what they wish to achieve two or three iterations down the line so presumably are making changes to accommodate those future changes

Well, I've seen on another forum that they were partly abolished already, and also depersonalized. So I don't believe you at all, I cannot see a usefull purpose for this variety of likes and 'dislikes' in a forum like this.

Is "love" a useful like? What's the difference with simple "like"?
When I choose "angry", is it because I'm angry at YOU, or angry about something about which you have written?
Etcetera.....

It LOOKS like a sophisticated system, but in fact I don't see where it is aiming. And the differentation of categories is totally unclear to me.
Maybe it is nice for facebook or tinder like websites, I don't know, I don't visit there (facebook only for regional activity).
On a forum like this, the old positive 'LIKE' is enough I would say, and though rather 'broad', still meaningfull.

As previously stated, we have no control over what the software developers decide to do, only they know where they are going, these 'other' forums A33 refers to do they all use Zenforo? I doubt it

Well, it was just ONE forum, and I don't know if it was ****** or another firm.

However: The other forum skipped the negative likes totally (to which I agree).
They kept 3 positive ones (I don't know the why behind the choice for these three).
These likes aren't counted anymore, so how many likes a member gets is totally unclear.

The philosophy behind it seems to be, that a like is fixed to a post, not to a person. So it is an indication for the 'value' of the post.

What I liked about the 'old' like-system, is that you got some sort of value of the contributions of a certain member, as I guess a member gets likes for informativeness, helpfullness to others, and (of course, you cannot rule that out) popularity.
(The likes, of course, seen as a proportion of number of posts.)
So for (new) forum members that cannot distinguish easily between the value of contributions of different members, it could be some sort of indicator for trustworthyness of the posters. It has helped me evaluate the value of posts, on some forums where I didn't know which posts to take more serious, and which to take less serious.

greetz,
