That's nice, some things are new to me like Ka-band on Mentor-4.
I'll also make corrections and additions to my list, long ago you promised to have a look at it...
Positions: Yahsat-1A is 52.5°E not 51°E, Hot Bird 6 is Eutelsat 8WC now at 7.5°W not 13°E.
And according latest McCants TLE, Sicral 1B slightly moved to 12.0°E.

Re Mentor-4

I would really be interested if anyone can detect anything else besides the TT&C beacon. This is one of the satellites thats talking to the MOONPENNY ground station up at Menwith Hill, so there must be some 'product' coming down somewhere. I have checked C to Ka but have not found anything except this TT&C beacon (pic attached).
44e17810.jpg
I couldnt make a Ka LNB behave down at 17.8G so had to roll my own which was a bit painful but it worked. This unit is from an old microwave link and uses a sub harmonic mixer.
18g_conv.jpg

Thanks for the updates, I'll action that now on the list here and update the site shortly.

Anyone already tried to catch Sicral 2, launched together with Thor 7 on 26 April?
By now, should be on location at 37.0°E.

Ok ..
my 9000C (miliband NOT ED) has arrived
Placed on my dish approx 8 to 9 inches right of focus looking from behind the dish..
So although the actual position is not known or logged in the Gbox at this point I'm guesstimating roughly looking in the region of 10 t0 20 West for this scan ..
Nothing locked ..
ie weak signals but no tweaking yet ..
Any ideas what I'm actually pointing at here guys ?
I need to get my bearings..
The scale _should_ be accurate frequency wise ...
LO of the Norsat being 19.250
rgds
VSFirst scan Norsat 9000C.png

Just rotated the lnb physically and the signal @20879 remained the same (about 3db)..thus indicating it is circular in polarity..

That's surely 5.2W 20880V/R SR 28994 FEC1/4 VS?
Unless it's duplicated on a satellite further West?

Time to employ a bit more accuracy I think..
being so far from the dish focus is making DXing withis lnb harder than it should be.
Basically ...too much deviation from the true arc needing constant elevation adjustment ..
I enjoy a bit of deviation as much as the next guy ...but this is too much.
So ..having already tried a large chunk of western arc with poor results ..I'll temorarily swap the 9000C with the ku lnb ..
closer to focus and known elevation presets plus sat arc references..
Might as well try it whilst the weather is good .

VS, I hope you can find something higher up the band than 20880 on 5.2W Syracuse on the Norsat and post it.
I can't find anything with my modded Hughes or Inverto, but that may be because of bandwidth limitations with them.

This is what I suspect to be WGS3 @ 12W
No idea yet as to polarity ..but IF circular this is an RHCP scan

Just rotated the plate by 90 degrees ..
So in theory this is an LHCP scan of WGS3 ..
Assuming circular of course..
Looks very similar but sig levels are different ..
So circular or linear ..
Perhaps the lnb should also be rotated through 90 degrees..?
