Heard on TV yesterday, an author saying that her daughter and other kids were embarrased reading an actual book at school so needed a kindle, yeah right.

I don't think anything should ever take away the experience of reading an actual book. However, I have a first generation Kindle which holds a charge really well (though you must switch it's wifi off to extend the battery life) and find it really convenient to read in bed. The book I'm currently reading however is littered with photographs from the early 20th century and they are frustratingly hard to see on the Kindle.
