Forthcoming Bengali service "Channel S" has begin testing off the Sky EPG on 11.426 (V), 27.5, 2/5, under the label "52520".

Authentic TV has moved from 687 to 695 today.

On 694, the Advert Channel has been replaced / rebranded by "Your TV"

The Poker Channel is testing on 11527 V 27.5 2/3 using the ident 50315. Poker Channel will be launching in the sports section (437???)

Poker channel has appeared on 265 - 16 days before official launch! (The DOG is carrying "16 days to go". Its gone into the entertainment section despite expectations it would go into the sports section.

Bengali service Channel S has launched fta on 837 - this is NSAT's old number, which may suggest NSAT wont be coming back any time soon.

Sit- up Ltd (who run Bid tv, price-drop tv and Screenshop) have revealed the names of their two forthcoming film channels.

"Matinee Movies" will broadcast classic movies between the hours of 9am and 9pm each day, showing a wide range of family movies such as The Pickwick Papers, High Country, and Carry On Admiral.

"Bad Movies" will transmit 9pm - 9am and will have some of the worst movies of all time on it. They will be launching with "Plan 9 From Outer Space" - voted most dreadful film of all time a few years ago

Whilst no launch date or epg numbers have been confirmed, they are expected to start before the summer, and its likely that the epg numbers will be 332 & 333

Pakistani channel Geo TV has started testing on 28E, which should indicate they are getting close to launch.

Have a look at 11390V 27500 2/3, ---> although only carrying a "Facility Line" test card & epg information at the moment.

SAW (South Asia World) will be carrying news bulletins on Zee TV at 0700 from 28th March. SAW launches as a stand alone channel in May.

Steve Bennett CEO of the Factory Outlet group of companies has announced live on Gems TV the creation of a Dedicated Diamond Channel that will launch between 4-8 weeks time.

Steve also announced that from Sunday 27th March 30% of the products featured on Snatch It would be Silver Jewellery, this would include Jewellery made with synthetic stones that would never be featured on Gems TV.


So - with 2 or 3 other retail channels known to be launching in the near future, theres no shortage of shopping channels wanting to join the platform

i hear there is a software update being "been to some box's" released by sky regarding the epg's something to do with freeing up numbers or something so when u press 0 on the remote it allows 4 digit music channels and also allows u to lock all channels with parental guidance and the background screens are changing to be in line with sky's current branding u know anything about that ?

Part of the update is to do with the memory handling in the number of data streams the boxes can handle, as they are just about topped out at the moment.

The exact format of the new numbering hasnt been released as far as I am aware

There has been mention of a proper parental lock function.

Dunno about background screens & tbh it doesnt bother me in the slightest if they dont change them.

As far as I am aware - no updates have been released yet to any boxes. They seem to have been delayed as they were originally reckoned to have started by now.

Well they're trying to acquire as big a market share as is possible, I guess the same as every other satellite TV provider, just that seem to be one of the more successful at it.
