This is so true! I have a large cardboard box full of them that I keep for when a particular voltage is required for a new project. Used one only last week for a security camera that required 5V and the supplied switched mode PSU caused issues with a co-sited VHF marine radio.

Xmas time when stepdaughter brought over a "dead" laptop - turned out to be just a dead mains adapter, and I found one on a shelf! All good now!
