hi all. i am just starting out on this new hobby of satellite stuff and would like to know where any of you kind folk started. i have no idea about cams cards sats receivers and frankly most of the stuff you guys talk about. so come on guys, help me get started.

Welcome to the forum, most of us probably got started by reading up in the various forums and sections, the Digital Systems section being probably the best initial port of call.

You will see several threads there asking about the best type of system and see that you need to sort out what you want to watch first.

There is no real shortcut to choosing an initial setup, you need to do some research.

well mr mills i did the same thing your doing... i started right here on this forum.

after asking lots of questions i made my choice and spent some money been very happy ever since, not once have i complained about the advice i got... it was bang on, i now receive all the channels i wanted... and even more

basically you should do the same.... read plenty and ask questions. eventually in a few weeks go and get the equipment, thats when the REAL questions start lol

its a lot to take in at first, but you soon get the hang of it
