I have a prime frocus dish which was previously motor driven. The linear actuator is still attached ( the green rod in the picture). Are there any reasons to keep it in place or can it be removed ?View attachment 10249
izefisherman said:If the actuator has no slack you can leave it on. Just use a 12V car battery charger to drive it to the desired position. That is what I did before I got myself a 36V positioner. Even though the motor has a rated voltage of 36V it will run nice and slow on 12V.
