I need to edit an old satellite list that was made using windows excel.

The version I have is office xp, don’t know if I will be able to install it under windows 10.

I have a couple of machines running mint, can I edit the excel file using a Linux program?

Many thanks.

Libre Office.

I use this free suite, on both Windows and on Linux Mint, to create and edit Excel and Word files with great success.

For Win 10, I also have Excel Mobile, installed from the Windows Store. It is free ..... Actually, I think it comes with Win 10 installs, so are you sure you haven't already got it?

Back to your original question, I installed Office 2003 (the last decent version)on my laptop which runs Windows 8.1 64 bit. This despite MS saying it wouldn't work.

I think there's every chance a one-version-earlier copy of Excel would work on a one-version-later operating system.

I will give it a try later on, and see if it will install.
