Linux Mint 18.3 "Sylvia" has just been released.

Can either be freshly installed or can be upgraded via the simple expedient of using Update Manager to bring Level 1 Updates, errm, up to date, then going in to the Update Manager's Edit Menu, where an option to perform the Version Upgrade can be found.

I just read a report about this on The Register and my first thought was "somebody's going to be happy" :)

What's that fresh, zesty fragrance? Oh, Linux Mint 18.3 has landed

Yes, Mint is as easy, if not easier to use, than Windows.

But, because it's Linux , many otherwise tech. savvy folk shy away from even trying it. No idea why.

Its like committing oneself to a particular car manufacturer because you can't abide the wiper controls being on the left hand stalk.

I have wiped windows 10 from one of my machines in favour of mint.

So far I haven’t looked back yet.

.... and not an Anti-Virus thingy in sight!

That said, I don't mind Win 10.

It's good to have diversity especially, as yet, there isn't comprehensive compatibility with all the programmes and apps one favours.
