Lithium Ion Battery packs - repair, refurbish, fit new cells

Does anybody know any business/person who can repair a Li Ion battery pack for a portable DVD player - pack appears to have failed due to non use since last year.

I did some research into the replacement and repair of laptop ones a few years back. Unfortunately the repair involved breaking a very secure seal to get to the individual parts, most of which were covered in the same sealant to prevent such work.

Have you looked at the price of a replacement one ?

Crack it open and give it a jumpstart, just apply a voltage directly to the battery cells for a short time to get it up to a level where the charging circuit will recognise the battery is there and charge it, though be aware that the battery will most likely have a lower capacity from not being used and allowed to discharge so low...
