LNB allignment

Singal Problems
After removing the 19.2 and 13.0 LNB's from the 1 piace bracket.
The signal for digital jumps from no signal to full during the setup insatallation on the nokia9800S.
I know the the bracket moved slightly when taking the rusty bolts from LNS.s off.

(As it is a 1 piece bracket am I right to assume it is a 13.0 and 19.2 degress bracket.)

What shall I do to correct the allignment of the LNB's.
Do I need to rotate the front caps as they have little marked black lines?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Sep-01 AT 08:21 AM (GMT)]Shahid, are you saying that the signal is oscillating up and down constantly? Also is the bracket a one piece metal bracket as in the attached file, as these are normally variable as in 6-9 degrees.

Check that you also have connected the correct LNB to the correct cable and have them listed properly in the setup.

You really need to describe exactly what you did and why you did it , ie was it to correct a fault?

There aren't many LNBs that I know of that have a twisting front, they normally twist within the clamp to allow for Skew adjustment.

I took out my amlogue pace 500 box and replaced the anolgue lnbs with digiial omes.
The lnb configuration comes later in the setup of the nokia9800s.

Yeah the signal jumps up and down. you are right the caps do not turn.
How this is useful info.

Without the LNB type being set you may have difficulties setting up, the receiver needs to know this so that it can lock on to the correct frequencies.

I don't know your receiver, but it probably has a pre-loaded database of transponders, so if the LNB setting is incorrect it will be off frequency.

The bouncing signal can be caused by obstructions (unlikely if you had it working before), faulty LNB, it's unlikely that both will be faulty so try them one at a time with a direct connection, (excluding the DiseqC switch as this could also be faulty or the settings in the receiver incorrect).

you can look at the nokia website and download the userguide and iform of the setup jargon.
it is a pdf file.i bought it brand new yesterday and the cambridge platinum lnb's.
anyone else own the nokia9800s?

Shahid, if you look at pages 17 and 18 of the user manual they describe how to set up the LNBs and the diseqC switch..

Let me know if there are any problems after trying those methods of setup.

It is possible that that you nudged the lmb very slightly out of place. It could be a temperamental wire connected to the lmb as i had a similar problem in the past. An indication of this can be getting a full signal which i believe means you aint getting any signal atall.

I have this feeling in my water that it is a set up problem with the DiseqC.

All sorted, the problem was the way I put the feeds in the 2 way DEsiqe switch. I had put HOTBIRD in LNB 1/A and ASTRA in LNB 2/B.
2old4this you mentioned crossover.
Everything is beaming down nicely.

The AGC and SNR signals are in the 70percent mark.
