LNB compatibility??

hi, i've purchased a sky1a receiver in middle east whith a universal LNB; all thse was just working great till now; seems to me that this LNB may be damaged;i'd like to buy a double LNB to head to astra ans hotbird. Can i get one anywhere, means are all Universal LNB's working in any countries??? what about 0.3 Db: is lower Db better than higher??? 0.3>0.6??? please help a newbie; THKS

Yes 0.3db is better than 0.6db :-googly

Universal means just that universal works anywhere :-thumbup


I do not know what country you prefer to buy from so just go to google.com and type in twin lnb, there are loads of places to buy from

A European universal LNB wont work very well in the USA as most of their signals are circular polarised not linear

And just to round things off, if you are looking for an LNB to see both Astra and Hotbird, you need a monobloc LNB, although some people call them twin, that is not correct and may end up in you buying the wrong unit.

Where did the usa come from? he is in the middle east and as such it is inferred that it is a European LNB but perhaps upon reflection I should have clarified.

As regards the monobloc yes I do not know why I posted that as of course he wants a monobloc with 6 degree separation again if jommo Googles for monobloc lnb the choice of supplier is his to make
