Although intrigued at how I can get the max from the gibby.

Tend to support Mickha, in that unless it is a new invention, that is patent pending etc.

Please share it with the forum then all members can benefit.

In my search on the net for an alternative lnb holder for my 125 dish I stumbled on this post from ROBs satellite forum.

"" I’ve recently discovered…….My Alloy 2 piece LNB holder was badly manufactured …!…..

The problem is / was…..with the Grey metal holder the Alloy LNB holder part clamps too……….

When measuring from…the 3 & 9 o’clock position…..to the edge of the Feedhorn…..the Feedhorn was not Square with the Gibby dish…….a 10 mm..left to right …difference…!…..

.OK…its not much…….considering the length of the arms..and how far away the LNB is from the dish…………. …but it would affect the Dish performance….

Its a easy fix…….Just twist the LNB Holder…with pipe grips………until measurements .fron left and right to the dish and Feedhorn are perfectly equal ………then realign the dish……Simples… ""

Supporting the theory the so called 2 piece alloy holder is a bad design for fringe reception.

This is the original holder for a Gibertini 1.25m. I'm not sure from the thread above if you still need this information, but it may help, also that I found that Gibertini dishes are "long-sighted". (The focus point is further back than you'd expect).

Thanks yes I know this is the original holder mine is the so called 2 piece.

Have sent a mail to gibertini hq in italy asking them to either send me the correct ( single ) holder or a web shop that has them in stock so I can buy from them.
Just hope they reply:(

Positive news received mail from gibertini hq saying they are trying to work out a solution to my mail.

My mail:-
Hello
I have this model of your gibertini dish unfortunately mine has the 2 piece alloy lnb holder pictured as attachment above, have search the net for the square metal single holder as shown in your product guide to no avail.
As I am using the dish for fringe satellite reception in Norway I find that the 2 piece alloy holder is not accurate enough ( to many variable joints ) so would prefer the single model.
Is it possible that you can supply this to me or reply with outlets that have these in stock and web retail them.

Was so surprised they bothered to reply, hope they come with a solution :-bighappy

The single lnb holder arrived yesterday, but due to torrential rain and floods will have to wait until a later date to fix it to the dish and do tests:

Is that a flood or is there usually a steam over there?

The joys of rural living.
Normally a mountain stream but after 71mm rain in 24hrs a raging torrent. Lived here 16 years and have never experience the stream so big.
The house is safe, built on raised ground:D

Wish we had even a third of that downpour but alas here since June we had not even a drop of rain and temperatures in their 30 C - 35C. Summers in here are really hot...swimming almost daily with sea temperatures 26/27C:eek:. Winters are mild. Normal yearly rainfall 500 to 600mm.

Same here, all summer torrential down pores, amazing thunder storms. This is the first year the grass has been green all summer. Even the tomatoes got the blite and has really affected the wildlife. Our road has also been washed away in places. Never mind on a good note the sun is shining today and temp is 20c already.

@zorbua
Your weather reminds me of the 18 months spent living and working in the negev israel in the 80s, prayed ( forgive the pun ) for rain:rolleyes:

@bim
Yep the more extreme weather pattern is changing:(

Have inspected the damage today after the stream broke its banks and happy to say all can be repaired. Think I was lucky as it was worse downriver from me, piccy is a car parking place!

Next few days forecast is fine weather will try to test the new lnb holder then.

Can't really compete with the photos above but this is what happens to the road outside our house in France when we get a thunderstorm.

It is becoming "a weather thread", not to continue that would like to show small video we had some time ago and my Prodo survived no problems. :rolleyes:
