What about an offset dish that is upside-down? Is the skew altered in anyway? I ask as I have an upside-down dish pointed at Hispasat and I've just used a bit of trial and error.

I believe pics of the setup are in my "tiny hispa dish" thread (towards the last few posts)

The setting will be upside down, so reversed.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Looking from the front, approx. 5 o'clock, or if the LNB is upside down, 11 o'clock... :D

Cheers guys, I had a feeling it would be reversed but looking at the dish I still get confused about the elevation and the skew as it's not "natural" being upside down!

I just use the analogue channel "Cuatro" to align my dishes on Hispasat.... :D

I really should try an upside down setup... :D

I can find Hispa easily - it's just "fine tuning" the dish for optimal reception of all the transponders I should be able to pick up.

Gents I know this is an old topic but I'm struggling to line up a dish on Hispasat... Signal is fine, I know the only problem is the skew. I've done loads of these without problem, but one particular dish (60cm dish with inverto LN:cool:, secured to a solid wall with no movement (Triax solid dish) just won't play nicely.

I'm positive I've got the skew right, I have a promax spectrum analyser and figures look good on almost all TPs on all polarities... is there a definitive setting for this? Maybe it's LNB focal length?

Yours, stumped!

I managed to get this on a lashed-up 60cm without any problems (although I'm some distance from Kent). I got Iberalia on 10890 V 27500, for example. I can't remember doing anything special...

Should be an easy catch, I've used Sky minidishes for it, just needed to wrench the LNB around to the other side skew wise (almost identical to the figure for 28.2 East, but to the other side), I don't use figures, just set with the spectrum.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

If you are using a spectrum then set up the skew using the minimum signal of the opposite polarity.

Should be an easy catch with a 60cm where you are.
As above, use the expanded spectrum trace and skew up on that.
