Had this from BT Yahoo concerning my upgrade to 1Mb.

When you placed your upgrade order, you will have been informed that the modem rental option is not available for the 1Mb service, so as part of the upgrade process and to avoid you having to purchase a new modem, ownership of your original BT modem will be automatically assigned to you free of charge. This means that, as owner of the modem, you rather than BT will be responsible in the unlikely event of any subsequent modem faults which may develop outside warranty.

Threw the thing into the loft well over two years ago when I first got the service, as it was a piece of Pooh (and not Winnie the). :D

They certainly do, but having said that, the service has been pretty close to troublefree.

Anyone want to buy an almost brand new USB Frog modem. :D :D :D
