Browsing through several websites I ve noticed that everyone is using dish elevation values that range from 25 - 31 Degrees. Is there an exact London elevation value or is it by trial and error until ?

I setup my dish using 31 Degrees and got no signal. Still trying to figure out what I did wrong. Will use as lower value for my next attempt.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

A figure of between 25 and 35 degrees sounds like the correction you have to add to the elevation adjustment for an offset dish.

London would (on a prime focus dish ) be set to around 51.4 degrees, with the declination a further 5.9 degrees or so - they are the figures I have in the head anyway.

31° is near enough spot on for Thor from London (almost due south).

Other satellites would be lower elevation than this.

The dish also has an elevation which is added to the motor elevation.

If you set the motor elevation and point the dish at Thor and change the dish elevation (not much) until you get the best signal. Now scan East and see if you can get 28.2 East and then West to 30 deg.

If you can you've cracked it.
